The Leaning Tower of Pisa

Brand identity, Entry Ticket Design, Series of Stamp Designs, Business Card, Gift Label, Food Packaging

The project was created as a way to challenge myself through the use of Briefbox, a hands-on library of helpful design briefs and resources to challenge your design skills.

The European Tourism Association are running an international design competition in the hope of inspiring many of Europe's most popular landmarks to join a new European Tourism Collective. The goal of this project was to create a full brand identity for a famous European architectural landmark. I decided to create the brand identity for the Leaning Tower of Pisa because of its unique and complicated history. The Tower of Pisa is a freestanding bell tower, of the cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa, known worldwide for its nearly four-degree lean, the result of an unstable foundation. This landmark began being built in the 12th century and structurally completed in the 14th century with continuous adjustments to the construction because the foundation creates a slight lean each year. As recognizable and picturesque as this landmark is, I created a brand identity and merchandise that speaks to that.
